Dr. Nguyen was raised and completed all of her education in Orange County, California. She received a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine and graduated with a Doctorate of Optometry at Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton. Since the start of her career, Dr. Nguyen has become more concerned with the major increase in near-sighted patients, especially in the younger population. She noticed a surge during the Covid-19 pandemic as well, due to the increase in digital screen time. This has piqued her interest and desire in learning and utilizing more methods and tools to help with myopia management. Dr. Nguyen has experience in Orthokeratology but would like to expand her knowledge in other treatment options, such as atropine therapy, progressive lenses, and contact lenses. She hopes to help slow down the progression of nearsightedness in children and young adults, to prevent possible eye diseases that may stem from higher myopia. With the latest equipment provided here at Optometry on Orangethorpe, she hopes to provide quality eye care for the community. Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending quality time with family and her 21-month old son. Any extra leisure time would be used for cooking and baking or arts and crafts.
